description

The Sun King enjoyed going to bed with music - just like we do. Given the lack of preserved melodies he had a number of carefully chosen instrument virtuosos performing at his bedside. To fall asleep? Jean Rondeau and Thomas Dunford assume there's been a much more active nightlife and present the imaginary soundtrack of an eventful night. Those two would have made Louis get up from his bed. And you too will be wild awake after this morning music in the Palm Hall.
