[TIME TO LISTEN] 19.00 h: "To describe the ineffable"
Livia Caffagni talks to Dr. Jelle Dierickx

In About 1434 the nun Caterina de' Vigri was only in her early twenties when she described in "The 12 Gardens" the soul's spiritual journey towards its unification with Christ. She put her own soul's longing for love into the description of those gardens that symbolize the stations of the pilgrimage. She fills her gardens with lights and colours, smells and flavours, sweet sounds and happy dance rhythms - the soul experiences the celestial bridegroom's approach with all its senses. The musicians of LaReverdie were deeply touched by Katherine's mysterious journey of love and after extensive research they compiled twelve compositions to a lauds (a "song of praise") as it could have been sung and played by Katherine and her sisters in the nunnery in Bologna back then.

Event is in the past.
