He had a weakness for strongly spirited drinks and scantily dressed girls and he could not handle money either. He really enjoyed Stockholm’s taverns where he sang songs accompanied by a cister that delighted both the king and his drinking mates. He was a gifted improvisational poet and found tunes for his singing in just about any place.
