Ole Bull was Norway’s first superstar. While Liszt is reinventing the piano, Bull is driving the world crazy with his spectacular violin art, which he derived from listening to the fiddlers of his home country. He brings a breath of fresh air to Europe’s musical scene: his enthusiasm for folk music sets an example for composers in future generations, namely Edvard Grieg, all of whom put Norway firmly onto the musical map. The Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud who also played Bull in Aslak Aarhus‘ film "Ole Bull – The Titan", uses velvety sounds and virtuosic fire to make the Nordic jewels shine.
