Nordic Biking
Potsdam / Address: In and around and all about Potsdam
Scandinavia is just around the corner! Your Nordic journey in a day featuring 22 concerts, readings, performances, guided tours and viewings in 16 venues in and around Potsdam.
For those who prefer a more relaxed approach (18 km) one of the tours takes them from Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate) to the Nordischer Garten (Nordic Garden) via the grottos in Park Sanssouci to Bornstedt. The Normannische Turm (Norman Tower) on nearby Ruinenberg (Ruin Mountain) offers spectacular views before the tour continues towards Neuer Garten (New Garden) where Orangerie (Orangery), Historische Borkenküche (Historical Bark Kitchen) and Muschelgrotte (Sea Shell Grotto) await the cyclists. Your next destination is Kaiserliche Matrosenstation Kongsnæs at Jungfernsee (Imperial Sailors’ Station Kongsnæs at Jungfernsee) and you finally reach Park Babelsberg and Potsdam’s nautical sports club.

Cyclists with great stamina (27 km) head directly for Neuer Garten (New Garden) and then they initially follow the same route via Kongsnæs and Klein Glienicke to Babelsberg – here they go past the building where legendary film studio UFA accommodated its guests. Then they visit FilmMusikStudio Babelsberg, home to the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg. The next stop is Germany’s largest forest cemetery. Südwestkirchhof Stahnsdorf is one-of-a-kind with its Norwegian wooden church. Finally the great closing concert at Brandenburger Tor happily reunites all the cyclists.
