400 years ago Monteverdi’s »Orfeo« started a revolution. Creating music that could express everything people feel to make people feel: what an unheard-of thought! If only we could experience this music in its exciting novelty as if for the first time! That was Massimiliano Toni’s wish and he boldly moved »Orfeo« to the present. Numerous internationally renowned singers sing pure Monteverdi accompanied by outstanding baroque ensemble l’arte del mondo who in turn are joined by a rock band: when Monteverdi meets rock, blues, funk and experimental sounds, an eclectic ecosystem creates surprising synthesis. A tonal space for present day audiences and their listening experiences opens and allows us to meet Monteverdi like a contemporary!
