John Dowland’s melancholic Muse is a real warhorse. The pieces the genius songwriter wrote immediately developed a life of their own and were »covered« all over Europe. Much like 20th century jazz standards. Four outstanding artists who in the past made music in a variety of duo constellations come together as dream team for the Music Festival especially. They thrive on mutual inspiration whilst indulging in their playful joy of rediscovering Dowland one more time: led by major contemporary countertenor Andreas Scholl.
