Everything’s perfect in the best of all possible worlds, isn’t it? Voltaire’s famous satirical novel in a reading with cinema organ sound

Candide is just as naive as his name suggests. When his teacher proves that the world as it is has been arranged perfectly, Candide believes him. After an improper kiss he is kicked out of his provincial paradise and has to face a reality packed with war, catastrophes and malice – a reality that truly challenges his optimism. Voltaire stages Candide’s horror trip as a global roadmovie with love & crime and trash and slapstick. Johannes Lang improvises the soundtrack on the Welte cinema organ with a capricious foray into musical history. Cinemascope for the ears!
