The wild beginnings of early music

program

Bernhard Schrammek, lecture with audio examples and as guest: transverse flute legend Barthold Kuijken

An unconventional exterior, strange instruments and rougher sounds: that was how a generation of young musicians countered the traditional concert activities with historically informed performances in the 60s. The recent history of interpreting early music kicked off with utopian ideas and a lot of revolutionary potential. An expert in the matter introduces the »HIPpies« of the »Historically Informed Practice« and is delighted to welcome one of them in person.
