18th century citizens would leave the cities’ hustle and bustle and happily discover »wonderful traces of nature’s creative forces«. Among them was Hamburg’s poet senator Barthold Heinrich Brockes, whose garden probably turned Telemann into a lover of all  things floral. His friend Händel not only lovingly set Brocke’s nature poetry to music in the German arias, he also sent Telemann exotic plants from London. A top quartet of female artists presents the flower friends’ fantasy in the magnificent setting that is the incomparable terraces of Sanssouci’s Orangery Palace.
