His German contemporaries celebrated Heinrich Schütz as »father of our modern music«. He and his same-aged colleagues Schein and Scheidt shaped the musical world of his era beyond their middle-German sphere. Marini Consort Innsbruck pursue the friendly connection and mutual inspiration of the »three famous S.« whilst involving their idols and teachers such as Giovanni Gabrieli and the timbral riches of their scores serve as inspirations for some fantastic consort versions. The Neo-Gothic Church on idyllic peninsula Hermannswerder provides the perfect atmospheric setting.
