As a naturalised Englishman Händel was adopted by a great recorderloving nation. The master flautist and her congenial partner surround him with illustrious colleagues from his circle of acquaintances adding the spirit of the great Henry Purcell who in turn must have inspired Händel as well. And suddenly the recorder becomes an Italian singer, turns into a Scottish dancer and sets off virtuosic fireworks
