Young colleague Scheibe considered Bach’s intellectual counterpoint art as already somewhat outdated, even though the latter was also a master of the new gallantly catchy musical taste and was in turn happily inspired by Venetian rivals Marcello and Vivaldi. This concerts brings the four of them together for a musical summit of pure delectation.
