Rheinsberger Hofkapelle
a young & uprising ensemble stops off in Sanssouci
Chamber music by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Christoph Schaffrath, Johann Sebastian Bach, Carl Friedrich Abel, Johann Joachim Quantz & Friedrich II. of Prussia
BREZZA
Pablo Gigosos, traverso
Marina Cabello del Castillo, viola da gamba
Teun Braken, harpsichord
In 2022, this trio won the competition for the title »Rheinsberg Court Orchestra«, which makes them this concert season’s ensemble in residence at Rheinsberg Palace, the place where a long time ago Crown Prince Frederic would gather his handpicked group of musicians – the beginning and the core of the future court orchestra. Brezza follow the king to Sanssouci, where he would indulge in his passion for chamber music accompanied by some of his best men including chamber harpsichordists C.Ph.E. Bach and Christoph Schaffrath as well as flute master Quantz all of whom were both virtuosos and composers. Their preferred venues? Among them were certainly the elegant halls of the New Chambers with their stunning views into the park.
