Faith healer or quack? Franz Anton Mesmer’s science of the attraction of souls, his »animal magnetism« is on everyone’s lips. In his friend Mozart’s partner swap opera »Così fan tutte« the theory is put to comedic practice. And his piano concert KV256 was probably composed for Mesmer’s most famous »case«, blind pianist Theresia Paradis who performs in Paris in front of Marie-Antoinette who in turn Haydn dedicated his symphony to.
