Can you believe it? Brandenburg’s leading youth orchestra is turning 30! It looks younger though, which is no surprise as all musicians are at any time between 13 and 24. Intensive rehearsal periods with well-known pros guarantee an ever-growing repertoire with international appeal so that there’s always something well worth listening to. Inspired by the 2021 experience of Bach’s »Brandenburgischen Konzerte (Brandenburg Concerts)«, the young musicians, led by Baroque specialist Gottfried von der Goltz, celebrate their anniversary with Händel’s immortal »Water Music« and for Vivaldi’s »Sea Storm« they share the stage for the first time ever with master flautist Dorothee Oberlinger.
Recommended for families with children from age 6. Concert without intermission, length about 1 hour
The concert is supported by the Ostdeutscher Sparkassenverband and the Förderverein der Jungen Philharmonie Brandenburg. The Young Philharmonic Orchestra is a project of the Brandenburg Association of Music and Art Schools and is sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg.
