Young Quantz was travelling during his studies and in 1724 he arrived in Naples. Back then he obviously had no way of knowing that one day he would make history as flute teacher to Frederic II. He absorbed the electrifying flair of the Southern-Italian music metropolis and met many famous colleagues in person. Dorothee Oberlinger and the Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla revive the musical scene at the Bay of Naples – with pieces including amongst others gorgeous music from the »Manoscritto di Napoli« a true treasure box for flautists.
A co-production of Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci and the Spanish National Centre for the Diffusion of Music (CNDM. Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical). Management & Production: MG Music Management.
