One of her generation’s most exciting violinists and her congenial partners present a masterpiece of violin literature. Arcangello Corelli’s Opus 5 was dedicated to Prussian Queen Sophie Charlotte and gives its performers plenty of space for their own unique ornamental presentation. The generations of violinists following Corelli entwined his classical lines with ever more virtuosic and extravagant decorations as is revealed by this fascinating concert, which explores the relationship between the »original« and his playful reinterpretation in pieces by Corelli successors.
