Haydn’s »Sun Quartet« shines evening light on Giacomo Puccini’s »Chrysanthemums«. He simply always wrote exciting music – even if there was no opera stage to be seen anywhere. Despite the flower of sadness’ saying in floral language: my heart is free – the woman’s heart Alban Berg fell in love with in 1925 was not. Therefore his »lyrical suite« is decorated with Baudelaire’s »fleurs du mal« - a monument to an impossible love.
