Why are all the Muses mute?

Opening concert with Purcell & Berio
Saturday
08. June
19:30
Nikolaikirche Alter Markt

The world is a bleak and joyless place when the Muses fall silent: human creativeness lies dormant. Baroque master Purcell conjures up the Muses’ world-converting powers like no other. Berio’s music transfers words into a new dimension as well – until the singer chokes on them. So what makes the Muses fall silent? An evening both exciting and inspiring about the Muses’ power and powerlessness.

In cooperation with the Museum Barberini: visit the exhibition »Picasso. The late works« before the concert between 6 and 7 pm.
