The joy of dance at the Neuer Garten

Through the centuries with charm and cha-cha-cha

When Friedrich Wilhelm II became king in 1786, he was weary of Sanssouci: he wanted a new garden and a modern summer palace. In 1917, the crown prince Wilhelm and princess Cecilie moved into their new palace which had been built in the old English Tudor style, and a year later the monarchy was history.
New times, new gardens, new dances: On this evening, a thousand bars of dance music invite you to listen to minuets and waltzes, the Charleston, Irish folk and Gipsy Swing. Sing along and dance at the Marmorpalais and Schloss Cecilienhof.

There will be performances outside on two stages: at the Marmorpalais and Schloss Cecilienhof, as well as inside, at the Orangery´s plant hall. The concerts start on the full hour and last 45 minutes, with plenty of time to walk between the venues – and to enjoy surprising perspectives at the festively illuminated New Garden. As the concerts will be repeated, you can put together your own personal evening program!
