Organ music can do without words. Does this mean that it has to be experienced as »pure«, »abstract« music or can it be experienced differently, for example, by relating it to dance and poetry? After all, composers have often been inspired to create music by poetic images. The magnificent-sounding »Wöhl« organ of the Friedenskirche will be celebrated in its 20th anniversary in 2024. Hans Davidsson, organist and organ researcher, collaborates with three soloists from the Royal Swedish Ballet Stockholm to bring the organ to life in an unexpected way. In the exciting, atmospherically illuminated interplay between music and words, sound and movement, stories condense into a special kind of dance theater –, and the supposedly »abstract« music suddenly takes on a three-dimensional form.
