The famous ensemble from Seville calls itself the »Academy of Pleasure« and the name says it all. With the courage to take risks, it plunges itself and the audience into a world of music that lives on the spirit of improvisation: the composers of the Spanish "Golden Age" were constantly coming up with new "cover versions" of the hits of the day - and the musicians around the brilliant gambist Fahmi Alqhai boldly counter them with their own variations. They have long been on the trail of the ear-catching connection to flamenco and have teamed up with a superstar of the scene: Ana Morales, who was awarded the Spanish National Prize for Dance in 2022, is one of the most exciting interpreters of contemporary flamenco.
