If the long way round is not for you, how about a trip to the island city of Werder near Potsdam: Island Hopping Sporty Edition (30km)? The route takes you in a wide arc past the Congress Hotel towards the South until you reach the island’s picturesque old town. The narrow streets mix the charm of a fishermen’s dwelling with Mediterranean Flair. When taking a closer look, the vulcanized fibre manufactury turns out to be an artists’ colony – creative people make their pieces here on the island of the industrious. On the way home you go through the game park right into Lenné’s garden area at the New Palace of Sanssouci and into the 19th century garden dreams of time-enraptured nature.
