In Glienicke, suggested by his Italian travels, Frederick William IV's younger brother realized his dream of an Italian-antique inspired villa-scenery in the sand of the Mark - with palace, casino, pergolas and Venetian monastery courtyards, secluded places for tea, terraces and viewing pavilions. Located on the ground floor of the palace, the Garden Hall features original designs by Schinkel that have survived over time. There's a three-winged French door leading from the opposite balcony porch directly into the pleasure grounds.
