To Rome for education - to Venice for the carnival! This is where the party of all parties took place, where even crowned heads threw themselves uninhibitedly into the fullness of human life under the protection of their masks. And the characters of the Commedia dell'arte swarmed across Europe as ambassadors of that lustful counter-world. Patrizia Bovi and Micrologus have tracked down the ancestors of Arlecchino & Co. in Renaissance music and bring a host of illustrious characters to the stage in one to four voices with comedic verve and colorful instrumental sounds: from the loud-mouthed soldier Scaramella to the accursed old people who are always bullying the lovers Zano and Rosina, to the incorrigible womanizer Feragù. The Winzerberg is an exhilarating backdrop already!
