Young ensembles in competition
The Ensemble Barque digs up rare jewels of
the Baroque period and sheds light on
»forgotten masters« such as Johann David Heinichen,
Christian Friedrich Witt and Johann Christian Schickhardt.

Inventive programs and high mastery of music are a preset in this matinée series featuring newcomers to the Early Music scene. The four best among the 21 applicants compete for the audience’s favour and the prize of the jury (chaired by Dorothee Oberlinger): a concert at the Musikfestpiele 2027. Last year’s winner, the ensemble Il Concerto Intempestivo, presents its brand-new programme on 13 June in the Raffael hall of the Sanssouci Orangery Palace. And of course once again, the four ensembles will fan out to visit schools and Kitas and feed young ears with old music
doors 1:45 p.m.
