»Swan Lake« – is still the epitome of classical ballet today, a dream in white with lace dancing in swaying tutus. At the final concert with the ensemble l'arte del mondo and the Orissa Dance Academy, Tchaikovsky's immortal melodies are immersed in the musical world of East India and the fascinating art of Odissi temple dance - and the swan's feathers glow in all the colors of the Indian spring festival!

L’arte del mondo – “The Art of the World”: The name says it all for the adventurous ensemble around conductor and violinist Werner Ehrhardt, which has joined forces with the renowned Orissa Dance Academy for its latest project. A large team of musicians and dancers, choreographers and composers from India and Europe bring Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece to the stage as it has never been seen or heard before. Europe’s world of legends meets the great Indian epic – the “Mahabharata”, which also tells of magical, shimmering gold swans. Wonderful sound paintings emerge when East Indian sounds intertwine with Tchaikovsky’s melodies. Two dance traditions that couldn’t be more different reflect and permeate each other in exciting choreographies. The perfect finale for a festival dedicated to musical wanderlust!
