We are all children of the sun – connected to our celestial power plant that supplies us with light, warmth and the energy to live. No wonder humans from all different cultures have always deified the sun. In the mystical grotto of the orangery’s terraces, two experts of the Middle Ages embark upon a musical and poetic expedition to discover the most ancient myths surrounding the sun. They dance in the red sky, summon Nordic sun goddesses and follow the traces of sun worship from Christian solar symbolism to the lively tradition of folklorist solstice celebrations.

After the event, there will be a Sunday breakfast at the »Gasthaus zur Historischen Mühle« for a reduced price of €48 (please show your concert ticket on site, not included in the ticket price). The brunch takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes food from the buffet, hot drinks, table water, and juices. Bookable from January 20, 2026, code: musikfestspiele.
