A NOCTE TEMPORIS
The fact that Georg Philipp Telemann was a great fan of French music did not go unnoticed by his fellow musicians there: in 1737 they invited their chosen relative to Paris and made his stay a celebration for life. We do not know whether Telemann also met the most important and controversial French composer of the day in person. The ensemble a nocte temporis brought the disparate contemporaries together and composed a poetic narrative from their colorful scores: Rameau's opera characters respond to Telemann's touching celebration of nature throughout the day with the wealth of emotions that move human hearts between dawn and midnight. A day made entirely of music!
