Inspired by Silbermann: chamber music by Johann Sebastian & Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach & Carl Friedrich Abel
Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach used Frederick the Great’s state-of-the-art forte piano by Silbermann for charting new tonally expressive territories. Plus the instrument also makes his father’s late pieces flourish. A masterly pair of early music brothers unites the generations with the delicate silvery sound of »Bach’s true piano« conjuring up a tonal world in transit between yesterday and tomorrow allowing the viola da gamba to play an important part as well.
