GUIDED TOUR | VIEWING
The first tour is scenically pleasant and entertaining (24 km). A short cut (15 km) for families and unhurried cyclists is also available. From Luisenplatz in Potsdam you cycle to its newly restored Historical Centre and then all the way along the river Havel: from Hermannswerder via Caputh to Alt-Geltow and back via Pirschheide. Join the air cushion sound session, climb up to Atlas on top of the tower of the old City Hall and solve the quiz rally in the Potsdam Museum. Experience the picturesque peninsula Hermannswerder with Venetian gondolier songs or the unique flair of Einstein's summer residence with relatively classical sounds. At St. Nikolai Church you are welcome to pause for a service, which in the Luther year is dedicated to the four elements. Caputh Palace or Alt-Geltow with its church and its hand weaving are equally welcoming. On the way back BMX World Champion Viki Gómez is set to amaze you with a performance alongside Ravel's string quartet in the new venue at Pirschheide Station. To conclude the day there's a Spanish-fiery presentation of the four elements at Nikolaisaal.
= ideal for families
When choosing the second, more challenging tour (33km) you cycle along 7 wonderful lakes and discover music in communication with fire, water, earth and air in many exciting countryside venues. You start in Park Sanssouci with the Church of Peace, the Grotto Hall and the Colonnades at the New Palace. Cycle along idyllic Linden Avenue via the church in Golm to Lake Großer Zernsee. And suddenly you arrive in Werder. Rest at the Havelbay, climb up Friedrichshöhe and enjoy the amazing views of Lake Plessow See. From Glindow Church you follow the beautiful route along the shores of the Havel lakes back to Potsdam. Before making your way back to the closing concert at Nikolaisaal you discover not only the brick factory Glindow but also Potsdam's Pirschheide with camp ground, station and resounding rocks as well as glass trumpets, fantastic polyphonic solo singing and BMX World Champion Viki Gómez. A real treat for all water loving bicycle concert aficionados.
