It began as a pen-friendship, ultimately reached its peak when Voltaire visited the court in Potsdam for three years and endured even spectacular quarrels. Today Voltaire is back on everybody's mind. Yet of all things it was at Boulevard Voltaire where hatred and violence struck most fiercely in the Parisian terror night.
