Life is a Chanson

Potsdam's Historical Centre: Nikolaisaal | Café Ricciotti | Carriage house at the New Market | Film Museum Potsdam / Address: Wilhelm-Staab-Straße 10/11, 14467 Potsdam

Padam, padam, padam: tonight Potsdam's heart beats faster. That's love! A celebration for all present and future lovers of French chansons.

program

08.00 pm, Nikolaisaal (Main Hall)
HOMMAGE TO EDITH PIAF

Richard Galliano, accordion
Sylvain Luc, guitar

Two exceptional musicians get together and pay homage to Edith Piaf: accordion legend Richard Galliano has completely overhauled French accordion music with his "new-musette-style" and rediscovered the instrument for jazz. Since the 90s Sylvain Luc has established himself as his generation's leading French jazz guitarist. They celebrate the grand dame of French chansons with sparkling jazz versions of her greatest hits from "La vie en rose" to "Je ne regrette rien".

And afterwards:
in the NIKOLAISAAL: Mélinée, she came to Berlin from the south of France creating her "melan-comic" song world with realism, romanticism and a subtle sense of humour +++ Carole Martiné with chanson classics from "La Mer" to "Parlez-moi d'amour".

in the CAFÉ RICCIOTTI: accordionist Carmen Hey & guitarist Martin Weiss: she loves valse & jazz musette - as Django Reinhardt's true grandson the gypsy swing is in his blood.

in the CARRIAGE HOUSE AT THE NEW MARKET: Antoine Villoutreix: the Berliner-by-choice from Paris mixes up good old chansons with swing, folk, reggae or rock, Isabel Klemt and her cello support him.

In cooperation with the Filmmuseum Potsdam and the House of the Brandenburg-Prussian History.
