description

The 15 "mysteries of the rosary" consist of the most important moments in the lives of Jesus and Mary. Therefore, in the original manuscript, each sonata is prefixed by in image as a reminder of the respective episode. Yet Biber's sonatas are much more than mere tonal paintings. As a powerful summons to meditation they are intense and touching. Music, which is immediately accessible yet far from immediately exhausted in terms of meaning resonates with the soul for a long time. The Orangery's atmospheric Palm Hall, its design idealizes the garden in front of its windows, is the perfect setting for listening to Biber's secrets. Experience the full cycle in two concerts: to be continued on Saturday!
