This year the Music Festival takes the theatre cart the touring opera company used for the 2014 pasticcio "The Golden Apple" and moves the opera into the garden. A perfect setting for Mozart's amusing one act piece about shepherdess Bastiene who turns to "sorcerer" Colas for advice when she fears she might lose her beloved Bastien to a noble lady from the city.
12-year old Mozart has set the couple's stumbling towards their happy-end to music. The piece probably received its world premier in a garden: at the village sorcerer Cola's famous colleague and "miracle doctor" Franz Anton Messmer. The opera cart is moving - make sure you don't miss it.
