The landscape of the River Havel around Potsdam did not exactly create obstacles for Lenné's all-ancompassing work of beautification - given how beautiful it is by nature. A boat trip on the Havel lakes is always a joy. Accompanied by knowledgeable Christa Hasselhorst the boat steams ahead moving from Templiner See through the bottleneck section at Caputh to Schwielowsee. This is where Petzow appears at its most delightful presenting a charming ensemble of landscape and architecture with village and park, manor house and church. Apart from Lenné, master builders such as Schinkel and Stüler worked on its creation as well.

After an extensive walk in the park a concert awaits you in the Schinkel Church. At this point remembering Carl Friedrich Zelter is inevitable. He spent his childhood years in Petzow. The founder of Berlin's singing society and head of the Singing Academy had the Mendelssohn siblings Fanny and Felix among his students - the program is basically a logical consequence.
